Doesn’t everyone want to “do well?” I believe we are often simply misled by culture as what “doing well” actually looks like. I love how clear God’s word is on the HOW to “do well”. We read in 2 Peter 1:19:

• PAY ATTENTION TO THE WORD OF THE PROPHETS!

He even tells us how long:

• UNTIL THE DAY DAWNS AND THE MORNING STAR RISES IN YOUR HEART!

It reminds me of the song and scripture that says, “though sorrow (one type of darkness that shrouds our soul) may last for a night, joy comes in the morning”. When our eyes are on the words of the prophets (the revelation of Christ) we will “do well” and consequently “be well”. One will truly be able to say, “it is well with my soul”.

And isn’t that what we all really want to “do well” the most...To have a conscious that allows us to lie down in peace, to live a meaningful life, to make a difference in the world?

Will you pay attention to the prophets?

Place yourself somewhere this season to grow spiritually. Taking the road less travelled will produce peace and joy this world will never offer. Praying for every reader this morning. Merry Christmas.
